Those who want to spend more time on the terraces and not to be addicted to the weather conditions - terrace glazing is a great option. Why not to install a glass roof on your terrace?! The roof glass not only will overshadow the terrace and additional rooms, but also will protect your furniture, equipment and friends from the rain, snow or wind. You will also be able to admire the starry sky or the northern delights.
A glass roof can be installed either on a wooden or metal constructions that you already have, or by setting up our proposed winter garden aluminum construction.
Mostly it is a wooden construction. We recommend that the roof rafting construction should not be larger than 800 mm. The glasses are manufactured individually, so the dimensions of each segment may be different. First of all, a micro-porous gasket is glued onto yours build wooden construction (between glass and wood / metal). Then the glass sheets are being placed on, which are made with half-rounded holes. After the sheets of glass are placed on the construction, an aluminum profile is attached to the top of the glass joints, which is tightened to the wooden/metal construction. The gaskets in the aluminum strips perfectly seal and prevent the flow of water. At the end, this aluminum profile is covered with an aluminum cap and completely hides the fastening screws.
Using the same technique, aluminum strips can also be changed into a special UV silicone filler. However, it should be noted that, possibly after several years, the silicone will be damaged by weather conditions and may need to seal the connections again.
For both types of glass roofs, we recommend a safety glass not less than 8 mm thickness. The best and safest way to install a glass roof on your construction is to choose a 12 mm thick safety glass. In this case, you will not be afraid to climb on the roof when you want to clean it. We offer glass in a variety of structures and dimensions. Tempered, laminated + tempered, tinted, transparent, with milled holes for a chimney, etc. All depends on your needs.
When choosing our aluminum winter garden construction, you can choose a glass roof or a 16 mm polycarbonate duct. When choosing a glass roof, due to smaller glass sheets size, the most suitable for our construction is a 8 mm thickness safety glass (tempered or laminated + tempered). Just the same as to other roofs, you can choose a tinted, transparent and frosted glass roof.
